Yesterday ended up being dominated by OPERATION LITTLE GOLDEN BOOK and Scares That Care stuff. We recorded a podcast last night, but this morning, the Nomno Soundcloud is acting wonky — first time ever for this usually reliable unit — so I’m already behind schedule for today. (I’d intended to take half an hour this morning to mix and post the podcast, and am now an hour into that process).
Technology, which we are told with each new iteration, will increasingly make our lives simpler, and instead, each new iteration is making them more terrible. Anybody who has relied on Microsoft products can tell you about the frustrating pit of suck Outlook has become with the execrable Copilot built in, whether you wanted it or not and whether you use it or not.
Yesterday’s journal entry featured a photo of the original first edition paperbacks of DEAD SEAS and THE RISING. Of course, you had to come here and read the journal entry to know why those two books were in that picture. But in promoting the journal on social media, the vast majority of people simply commented that they loved those books, and never clicked through to see what the story was actually about.
The general public are being increasingly driven toward creative content that is short and visual, which is not a great thing for writers of books or even long-form comics. In the future, all of us will present our stories as either memes or cartoons less than one minute in length.

Currently Listening: Sirius/XM’s Hair Nation played David Lee Roth’s “Goin Crazy” and Sam Kinison’s “Wild Thing” back-to-back this morning, so that was my entire day sorted right there.

Okay, finally got this sound file to upload correctly. Had to hard reboot the entire Nomono unit so that it would reconnect to the Wifi and then communicate with my Mac. Wayyyyyyyyyy behind on stuff now, so jumping into the fray. Have a great day.
