Scares That Care AuthorCon 6 Preliminary Programming Schedule
What follows is the PRELIMINARY programming schedule for AuthorCon VI — a Scares That Care charity event taking place February 27 through March 1. This schedule should NOT be considered final. A final schedule will be posted in early February.
If you are a registered vendor or Guest of Honor and you previously applied for a reading or a panel, please read the preliminary schedule carefully. We are 99.9% certain that everyone who applied has been represented. Find the things you are scheduled for, and verify there are no conflicts. If there are no conflicts, you don’t need to do anything. If there ARE conflicts (ex: we have you down for a reading but you only wanted a panel, we have you on a panel with someone you don’t care for, etc) then email briankeene @ live dot com with ‘AUTHORCON SCHEDULE’ in the subject line, and inform us of the conflict. The deadline to do this is January 25th by 11:59pm EST.
If you are a registered vendor who missed the deadline to apply for a reading or a panel, please read the preliminary schedule carefully. You will note that available reading slots are indicated by the words OPEN SLOT. You will also note that panels with available seats have an indication of such after the panel description. (Panels without such a designation are considered full). If you wish to be included in programming, email briankeene @ live dot com with ‘AUTHORCON SCHEDULE’ in the subject line, and inform us of the following: Do you want a reading, a panel, or both (if scheduling permits)? If you chose reading, give us the three best slots that work for you (Day and Time). If you chose panel, give us the three that you are most interested in. Caveat that these programming slots are on a first come, first served basis. The deadline to do this is January 25th by 11:59pm EST.

Due to the mature nature of this presentation, this is an ADULTS ONLY presentation. Limit of 40 participants. 1:00pm to 2:00pm – How to Create an Amazing Author Website (First Floor, Center Lounge): In order for readers, agents, and publishers to find you online, you need a website. In this seminar, author and digital communications professional Sonora Taylor will share the unique advantages a website has over other online spaces like social media, then walk you through what makes a great author website. There will also be a Q&A session to answer any questions you may have. If you don’t have a website or you have one that’s in serious need of updating, then this seminar is for you. 3:00pm to 5:00pm – Ask An Agent (First Floor, Center Lounge) – Literary agent Becky LeJeune (Confluence Literary Agency) hosts this workshop for writers of all levels. Learn how to pitch your manuscripts to an agent, how to write the perfect query letter, and much more. This is a ticketed workshop. Tickets are available for purchase at convention registration.
6:00pm to 8:00pm – Artist Reception (Second Floor, Room 11): Meet the artists who created the pieces in this year’s art show, learn about their process, and purchase something to take home with you.
