Small World - Daily Journal 1/17/26
The meteorologists promised us an epic snowstorm would happen overnight, but I woke this morning to no snow; only bitter cold.
In 2026, not even the weathermen know wtf is going on.
In truth, I’m a little disappointed. With no physical store to go to anymore, I was looking forward to being snowed in. I don’t know why, but snow days have always been very productive for me, writing-wise. My only excuse for having to leave the house today would be if my youngest boy needed a ride home (he was out with his buddies last night, doing all the same shit me and my buddies did at that age), but otherwise, my commute is bed to coffee pot to computer.

Had a small world moment this morning. Sold a collected lot of James A. Moore’s Grimdark fantasy novels via our eBay store, and in talking to the buyer, I found out he was Jim’s older brother. I’m going to send him free copies of any of Jim’s other books that he doesn’t have, along with some photos from over the years.

Jim was one of a kind. We will not see one like him again in our lifetimes.

Sonora finished proofreading for me yesterday, so at some point today the preliminary AuthorCon VI programming schedule will go live here on this site. The link will be posted in all the usual places.
Once that is done, it’ll be back to FALLING ANGELS: THE LABYRINTH Book 4, and also — if I get time — working out some pitches for one of the Big 5. (Because although I am very happy being an indie author these days, my kid got accepted to a fantastic college that we can never in a million years afford, and I’ll be damned if he’s not going, so back to the mainstream I go).
Have a great day!
