Indecisions Are Decisions (Daily Journal 1/4/26)

This week’s newsletter went out earlier this morning. You can read it here.

Mary made it home safe yesterday. Good to have her back. The cats and I let her know she was missed. I finished up working while she took a bath and a nap. Then we had dinner and spent the evening together. Made plans to do brunch today after she wakes up. And then she said that she liked the idea I posted here last week about taking Sundays off and devoting them strictly to reading.

So, I guess that’s what we are doing today.

And I know it was my idea, however… I’d like to take today to finish the warehouse transfer (all that’s left in leaky warehouse are two shelves of graphic novels, and several boxes of Lifetime Subscriber shipments, which were due to start shipping this week, until the roof disaster happened. I could get those moved and stored in an afternoon. And then I could spend the remainder of the day reading, still.

My other indecision this morning involves this left brain / right brain (or, as an old girlfriend used to call it, “left Brian / right Brian”) audio struggle.

Left brain wants to put FNM on the stereo. Right brain wants to keep listening to Billy Joel on Sirius/XM.

Doing so simultaneously would just be silly, I suppose.

Author Frank Reardon recently suffered a debilitating back injury, the pain of which has severely impacted his ability to work (for both his day job and as a writer). With no current health insurance, he needs help paying for medication and doctor visits, as well as temporarily assisting with groceries and monthly bills, while he waits for his worker's comp claim to be approved. I set up a GoFundMe for him yesterday, which you can find here. If you have the means, and can donate 5 or ten bucks, I’d appreciate it, as will those close to him.
