Daily Journal 3/9/26
Emotions ran deep on the set last night, as we filmed the final scene of DEAD FORMAT. Lots of tears from both cast and crew, many of whom were devastated by not only Mark’s performance but the overall weight of the sequence. The 20 to 40 minutes leading up to capturing that were pretty amazing, as well. We needed to figure out a lighting and background problem for the finale, and everyone — the entire team — came together with suggestions and solutions. I’m convinced that when audiences watch this in theaters or at home, it’s going to wreck them. When it does, know that it was truly a team effort.
I’ll be heading to Delaware next weekend for the start of the final two sequences to film, but I am back home and back to writing this week. My mian focus for the months of March and April are these last 10,000 or so words of FALLING ANGELS: THE LABYRINTH Book 4 and the remaining commissioned LOST LEVEL stories. That will also be the main focus on Patreon in the weeks ahead.
It’s supposed to get up to 70 today, which will make for a nice hike. I normally walk every day, but the harshness of this past winter has hampered that. Looking forward to getting back to it.
