Daily Journal 2/10/26
Got the house to myself for most of this week, so yesterday was spent deeply embedded in my office, working on two short stories, the finalized programming schedule for AuthorCon VI, and a new Afterword for the forthcoming twentieth-anniversary edition of TAKE THE LONG WAY HOME.
(Yes, I too can’t believe that book is twenty this year).
The twins, Dallas and Stripe, offered moral and editorial support throughout the day.
Ignore the mess. That big stack of books to Stripe’s right are for James A. Moore’s brother. I’ve gone this entire frigid winter unable to wear that fleece jacket the cats are laying on because they guard it like Smaug protecting his treasure.
If you want an easy life, get a dog. If you want a life filled with unexpected occurrences, get cats.
And before anybody takes issue with that, I like both cats and dogs, and I think anyone who buys into that “Cats vs Dogs” bullshit is the same type of mental defective who buys into “Marvel vs DC”, “Coke vs Pepsi”, “McDonalds vs Burger King”, “Zuckerberg vs Musk”, or any of the other bullshit bogus matchups they foist on us so that we continue to be distracted while they carve up this world a little bit more for themselves.
But I digress.
Today will be spent on those two short stories again. And at some point today or tomorrow I’ll post the AuthorCon VI schedule.
