Big progress made yesterday. The old warehouse was completely emptied and everything is now in a new, secure, and not halfway underwater facility. That took all of the afternoon and most of my remaining back muscles, but it’s done and that is a HUGE weight off and a BIG crossoff on the to-do list.

The 2026 Splatterpunk Awards ballot (for works published in 2025) is 90% complete. Just waiting on a few verifications for the categories of Collection and Anthology. I’d hoped to announce today, but it will most likely be next week.

Lengthy phone calls and emails with my pal and coconspirator Christopher Golden yesterday, regarding a new anthology we’re doing, whcih you’ll find out about later this year.

Also talked with Pandi Press and confirmed that THE BEST OF BRIAN KEENE will get a second printing at some point this year.

Today’s Plan: I’ve got a buyer showing up to Vortex with a trailer at noon today. He’s taking the rest of the shelves. All remaining online store stock has been removed, so all that is left are books for the bulk chains. Intend on boxing those up. After that, it’ll just be the storeroom (which is going to be a full day project in itself).

I’ve talked before (in my newsletter and in END OF THE ROAD) about the horror genre’s little pal Muggsy Schow. He’s currently fighting a brain tumor and there’s a GoFundMe set up to help make his final days more comfortable.

Tradwife by TC Parker was one of my favorite books of 2025. It was also one of our bestselling titles for the year at Vortex. Last week, Amazon decided to stifle the book (despite having sold it for a year) unless the cover, which featured a severed human heart, was changed to a plastic heart.

Well, Vortex doesn’t censor the books we sell, and we just got in a new ship of Tradwife with the original cover. Get one here.

Okay, time for yoga and exercise and then go make breakfast for the kiddo and have coffee with his mom, and then start tackling those bulk book boxes. Have a great day!
