Meant to get up at 5 this morning and write, but forgot to set my alarm. Normally, I would wake up anyway because that’s how my mind and body work, but the two of them must have decided I needed more sleep because I didn’t wake up until ten minutes after 7 this morning, and the only reason I woke up then is because Josie, Spike, Stripe, and Bubbles formed a phalanx at my feet, and then sent Dallas to climb atop me and start meowing very loudly in my ear.

Vortex’s physical store was incredibly busy yesterday, with lots of folks taking advantage of the clearance sale. Many familiar faces — regular customers, fans, and writers such as Vaughn Jackson and Stephen Kozeniewski, and my pal Jessica who I went to school with. Vortex’s online store was very busy, as well, and we have a lot of orders to pack up and ship today. If you’ve been paying attention to the online store, then you’ve noticed that the inventory is growing daily. Every morning there are a ton of New Arrivals appearing in stock. Amazon better look the f*ck out. :)

This week’s newsletter went out earlier this morning. You can red it for free here.

Mary and I watched Man Finds Tape last night, and enjoyed it. The film is executive produced by our friends Jessica and C. Robert Cargill (this is Jessica’s first time as an EP). It’s a fun, gory, old school Carpenter-esque cosmic horror film. Recommended.

We also watched a crime-western movie from a few years ago, called Americana. Next time you hear someone grousing that Sydney Sweeney can’t act or that people only like her because of sex appeal, show them Americana and then tell them to shut up. A perfect and quirky crime flick.

Will be very glad for the next two and a half days. Really need to double down the focus on writing and Scares That Care stuff. Also need to get new episodes of SECRET HISTORIES and KEENEVERSATIONS recorded and in the can. Yesterday’s mail brought three YOB albums on vinyl, so I’m looking forward to putting them on the turntable tomorrow and getting some real work done.
