Mary was out on the town with our friend and fellow author Amanda Headlee last night, so I took myself the the Black Olive Diner, a personal favorite. I ordered a bowl of chili and a stuffed pepper. Which ended up being too much food, because when I got home and tried to work out, that stuff sat in my gut like wet concrete. Writing in that state was going to be an impossibility, so I recorded what I was going to write and released it as this week’s podcast, instead. You can listen on Spotify and Patreon.
I also discovered early this morning that Keeneversations has apparentky vanished from Apple. I’m guessing I broke one of their 500,000 ever-changing rules.

Vortex’s last physical day today. I talked all about my feelings regarding it on last night’s podcast, so no need to rehash here. Doors open at 11am and close at 4pm.

A little fact that I did not know until last night: Billie Thomas, the child actor who played Buckwheat on Our Gang and Little Rascals, got a job editing and cutting film as an adult, and processed the negatives for both Jaws and Logan’s Run. (I learned this because I watched the Eddie Murphy documentary, Being Eddie, in which I learned that Eddie Murphy paid for Thomas’s tombstone, which then sent me down a Google search rabbit hole).
I loved Our Gang and Little Rascals as a kid, but haven’t watched them since childhood. May have to revisit them and see how they hold up.
