Lost & Found (UPDATED)

In late August, during the time that I was moving into my new home here along the Susquehanna River, I received two boxes in the mail. One was full of signature sheets for Cemetery Dance’s Smoke and Mirrors. The other contained copies of The Last Zombie: Inferno #1 for Overlook Connection’s collector’s sets. Both boxes got mixed in with all of the other boxes during the move, and were just found last week when I was going through ‘Things That Have Not Yet Been Unpacked Between The Flood, The Heart Attack, And My Recent Break-Up‘. That’s not an excuse. I take full ownership of the delay for both.

The good news is, the sig sheets and the comics are going back out in the mail today. You can still pre-order Smoke and Mirrors by clicking here, and you can still pre-order The Last Zombie: Inferno signed collector’s sets by clicking here.

UPDATE: Fuck me. I just found a box of signature sheets for the Dueling Minds anthology, as well. Signing them now.

IN STORES NOW

Available today wherever comic books are sold is To Fight With Monsters. This post apocalyptic one-shot is written by me and Mike Oliveri (based on our short story from 4X4), illustrated by Ben Dunn, and published by Antarctic Press.

Don’t have a comic shop near you, or worse, have one of those comic shops that only order 5,000 copies of the latest crossover event? No problem. Click here to order directly from the publisher.

COMICS UPDATE

That’s country and blues singer Kasey Lansdale over there on the right, showing off her latest comic purchases. Which is a nice segue-way into my upcoming comic projects. The Last Zombie trade paperback and To Fight With Monsters are out now, and all 5 issues of The Last Zombie: Inferno are up for pre-order. Issue #3 of Inferno – Planters’ origin story – might be the saddest thing I’ve ever written.

Inferno will be followed by a series of one-shot single issues, before we jump into the next 5-issue story-arc, which finds Ian and the others embroiled in post-apocalyptic Chicago politics. If that sounds like we’re planning ahead, yes, we are. Sales for The Last Zombie have been very strong, and as long as they remain that way, I see nothing preventing us from reaching fifty issues (which was my original plan).

On the non-Antarctic Press front, I’ve got some stuff in the pipeline with a few other publishers, but it is way too early to talk about most of it. Doom Patrol: Fire Away comes out this summer. Marvel just took Dead of Night: Devil Slayer out of print, but TFAW still has copies. Grave Conditions is still in print. And Camelot still has some copies of The Rising: Death In Four Colors. And look for Clickers comics in late 2011!

TO FIGHT WITH MONSTERS

Dig the new cover for To Fight With Monsters, a comic I wrote with Mike Oliveri, illustrated by Ben Dunn. It’s at the printer. You can still pre-order a copy for $5 by clicking here. And you can check out a free six-page preview by clicking here.

This is a one-shot, single issue. There will be no trade paperback. Those who entered March’s pre-order contest will be receiving their prizes soon!

Meanwhile, the first The Last Zombie trade paperback debuted at #141 in the top 300 Graphic Novels listed by Diamond last month. Thanks to everyone for the support. Some good reviews for it here and here.

Contest Extended

Here’s the deal. Not enough copies of this have been pre-ordered to make printing it profitable. I suspect that’s because A) it got lost in the shuffle amidst all the new book announcements, and B) people mistakenly assume it is #1 of a series and decide they will wait for the graphic novel. Option A is understandable. Option B is not. To Fight With Monsters is a one-shot, single-issue. There will be no further issues. It costs $6. Cheaper than a paperback book. It is co-written with Mike Oliveri and based on our post-apocalyptic story from the long-out-of-print 4X4. If you pre-order from the publisher before March 22nd, you might win one of many cool prizes signed by Mike or myself. So go take care of that by clicking here.

Last Two Days — UPDATED

There are only two days left to pre-order my new comic To Fight With Monsters directly from the publisher and be entered to win one of over a dozen prizes signed by myself or Mike Oliveri (who co-wrote this post – apocalyptic tale). This will be the only edition of the comic. Due to distribution problems, we’re asking that you order directly from the publisher. Otherwise, you might not get a copy. Click here to pre-order.

UPDATE: Contest has been extended to the 22nd.
