The Final Ban

UPDATE: SOLD OUT. Thunderstorm Books reports (via The Keenedom) that they are down to their last two copies of The Leader of the Banned, the book that successfully predicted much of what has happened to our genre and the industry over the last four years. This book will never be reprinted, so if you want one, act now. Click here to snag one of the last two.

Last Call for LEADER OF THE BANNED

Thunderstorm Books reports that they are down to their last 9 copies of the signed, limited edition hardcover of The Leader of the Banned. Spanning 2006 to 2008, The Leader of the Banned collects the legendary final Hail Saten essays, covering torture porn, writing collaborations, the history of the horror genre, the media, pop culture, the 2008 presidential race, the Stephen King phenomenon, and more. It also includes the incendiary “If I Were President”—the fateful entry that landed me on the government’s watch list. As an added bonus, it also includes many never-before-published essays, as well as material I wrote under a pseudonym that was previously unknown to the public—until now. This is also the book that predicted everything happening in the genre right now, from the Shocklines crash to the Horror Mall merger to the situation with Leisure Books… and more. Forewarned is forearmed. The Leader of the Banned will never be reprinted in its entirety, so once these last 9 copies are gone, they are gone for good. Click here to order.

Between the Devil and the Blood Red Sea

The Leader of the Banned has shipped. Due to declined credit cards, incorrect shipping addresses, Horror Mall glitches, etc.,  the publisher has a few extra copies left in stock. First come, first serve. Reminder, there will be no other edition of this book. CLICK HERE TO ORDER.

Clickers 3: Dagon Rising will ship the first week of April (less than two weeks from now). Still a few copies left to reserve. Not only is this a linear sequel to Clickers and Clickers 2: The Next Wave, but it also gives readers their first real exposure to the mysterious Black Lodge, features the return of Leviathan (from The Conqueror Worms), and offers a set-up for… well, that would involve spoilers. Last Dance with the Devil

The Leader of the Banned: The Best of Hail Saten Vol. 4, begins shipping this week. The publisher has 5 (five) copies left for order. Remember, there will be no other editions of this book in its entirety (including trade paperback or digital), so if you want to read it, better snag one of those last five signed limited edition hardcovers. From the publisher: “After nearly a decade of skewering politicians, corporations, organized religion, publishers, peers, enemies, friends, and often himself, Brian Keene’s extremely popular ‘Hail Saten’ finally came to an end in 2008. For almost ten years, Keene’s essays were a must-read for both fans and pros. Unfortunately, in a post 9/11 world, they also became a must read for the U. S. Government.

Spanning 2006 to 2008, Leader of the Banned: The Best of Hail Saten, Volume 4 collects the legendary final Hail Saten essays, covering torture porn, writing collaborations, the history of the horror genre, the future of the small press, the media, pop culture, the 2008 presidential race, the Stephen King phenomenon, and more. It also includes the incendiary “If I Were President”—the fateful entry that landed Keene on the government’s watch list. As an added bonus, it also includes many never-before-published essays, as well as material Keene wrote under a pseudonym that was previously unknown to the public—until now.”

PS: Speaking of Hail Saten, although volumes one and two are out of print and long sold out, there are still a few copies of the also out of print volume 3, The New Fear, left in stock at Horror Mall and Overlook. Since my reading here in Nashville last night included volume three’s “Zombie Manilow”, I expect those few remaining copies to sell out quickly.
