Professional Manuscript Review Update

A month ago, I announced that I would be offering professional manuscript reviews for a limited time. You can read all the details, rules, etc. here. Now that a month has gone by, and I’ve got a comfortable handle on how many I have to do and the time-frame it will take to do them, I’m announcing an official cut-off date — which is November 10th (this Saturday). Any manuscripts post-dated after that will be returned unopened. So if you want to take part in this, please make sure they go in the mail before the 10th. Depending on how successful folks think my feedback was, I’ll probably do this again next year at some point.

I’m sending from Canada – is a straight up check for $350 ok or do I need some fund conversion or something? Also, will you take a collection of short stories – some are longer than others, some quite short, all horror. Won’t quite make up 100,000 words but it will be substantial.
    Thanks
I’ll put it in the mail by friday.

Hi Mr Keene, Im an avid fan of zombies and fantasy; unfortunately I haven’t had the pleasure or honor yet to read one of your books but it’ll be soon I assure you. I’m writing to ask for your intelligence, since you are a well known author, I would like some insight on what I should do. I live in Exeter California with a friend from works friend and having a job necessarily mean I have the luxury I would have, considering I don’t get a very good paycheck. My youth pastor paid for me to go to college and right now I’m enjoying it but the semester is almost at an end and I fear I may not be able to attend next semester. I’m rewriting a book in my spare time and while it doesn’t attend with unspeakable horrors such as zombies like yours, I like to look at it as being a nightmare in another realm if that makes such. Ive been writing it in my composition notebooks for almost 7-8 months and I’m barely at the halfway point before I can even fathom of typing it. Finding a publisher is hard work Mr. Keene but I was hoping you would help me. I don’t usually get much from work but what I do have I’ll make it up in full. I want to be a full time author and I know I can do it because I love it so much. Is there any way you can possibly help me accomplish my dream? You would have no idea how much that would mean to me. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I certainly hope it does go well and you continue to offer it in the future. Tremendous opportunity to pick the brain of a great author.

    Hi Brian,

I sent mine out on 10/26 and was wondering if it had beat the madness that was Hurricane Sandy. I sent it library rate and know that that has a tendency to crawl across country. Hope that you weren’t too affected by the storms! Thanks again for doing this.
