BULLETTIME

My friend and sometime collaborator (on The Damned Highway and various Internet hijinks) Nick Mamatas has a new novel out called Bullettime. It’s available in paperback, Kindle, Nook, and Kobo. You should buy it, if only to hold you over until we get around to finishing our re-telling of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

I usually don’t like books with gunfire in them, but this looks different so I’ll try it anyway.
IDK. Getting shot in real life has a way of finding gun scenes in fiction and on television lose their excitement.

But I can handle cough syrup, as long as it doesn’t contain the one ingredient that I’m highly allergic to: guafenesin. That stuff is poison to me. Unfortunately, they have no other medication similar to it.
I have a true allergy to it, which means I had a minor phase I allergic reaction the first time I tried it. The way most allergies work, you have to be exposed to it first and then it sets up the reaction the second time and is worse than the first one.
That’s why most people say, with surprise, “She ate it before,” or “took it before and nothing happened to her.
I know: TMI. I wish stream-of-conscious writing was still popular, b/c I think I could make a fortune off of it.

My main point is that I’ll read the book. Along with ‘The Damned Highway.’
I just wish I could buy it in hard or soft copy, b/c I really like holding a book in my hands and turning its pages.
Call me nostalgic, but some things were working FINE without being computerized.
