    Sir,

Are all these reissues (Entombed, Ghost Walk, Worms series, Rising series , etc) going to contain additional material? If so, I am going to need a bigger shelf….either that or embrace the digital SHUDDER!

    Best Regards,

    Keith

I must say that I’m extremely excited about Suburban Gothic coming out next year, being Urban Gothic was one of the first books I ever read of yours and by far one of my favourites.

I wonder why so few kindle editions (digital)? I never buy physical books anymore. You would think any publisher would immediately offer digital and physical books at the same time.

Wow, two books I haven’t read so far in September, and this so shortly after Alone :)
Any date when they will come out? I will be on holiday in a week and it would be great to have something new to read then ;)

HEREINTHEUSA: I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking. Deadite publishes digital editions of all of my books with them. Barring technical difficulties, the digital ones usually come out a month after the paperbacks (because all publishers make more profit off books rather than digital, and they like to give the paperbacks a month to earn out). The other thing to remember is that just because some folks never buy physical books, many others still do (my parents, for instance). I like that both paperback and digital are available. That way, both audiences are served.

KEITH MEYERS: Earthworm Gods has an extra scene that was cut from the original (about a page in length) and a very lengthy afterword recounting the book’s history and origin. The Rising has about 20,000 words of material that was cut from the original (the equivalent of 4 or 5 chapters). The others are pretty much the same.

New material. Heck yeah. Older material I never had a chance to get
(came into the Keene-scene a little late.) double heck yeah. Especially the selected scenes series. Have the hardcover of Clickers Vs. Zombies. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Fans of JFG and BK would be doing themselves a great disservice not to get that when it is released.

Personally, I’m looking forward to December – Clickers vs. Zombies will be the first Deadite/Brian Keene release that I haven’t already read!

“Hereintheusa” – you do realize Deadite is scheduled to publish 6 paperbacks and 6 digital editions in the list Brian posted, right? Perfectly equal. Your complaint makes no sense.

Hey, I was just wondering if you were still writing a novel about vampires. If you are do you have any idea when it would be done, published? I just really excited about seeing what Brian Keene’s take on vampire would be like.

Can we have another 20k in City of the Dead pls, it’s only fair really, we dont want it seeing the new souled up Dir Cut of Rising and getting all jealous do we.

I prefer to read the paper releases, my Kindle has a yucky grey background and its nowhere near as easy to read in low light as a print book is.

Great news! Safe to say the near future is saved for me. Can’t wait to read several of these, especially An Occurrence In Crazy Bear Valley, Entombed, Earthworm Gods and Suburban Gothic. Awesome!

Kristina Velis: Yes, I am. It’s called WITH TEETH, but it won’t see publication until next year.

Peter Hardy: Ha! I wish. Sadly, there isn’t 20k worth of stuff on the cutting room floor. There *is* some extra material — just not as much as what got cut from The Rising.

Cheers Brian you answered my question. For some reason I thought there were no digital editions. It wasn’t really a complaint more a question. Rest assured the moment digital edition on sale it will be purchased and downloaded.

Really looking forward to Entombed and Clickers vs. Zombies, this is the first I’ve heard of An Occurance in Crazy Bear Valley but I might as well pick it up to.

Awesome news! I’ve been checking here religiously each day to see what updates you have on Entombed and Suburban Gothic. I know that both are going to be fun reads.

Can’t wait for the Earthworm selected scenes and Clickers vs. Zombies. Been waiting for those to come out in paperback for a while!

Brian, is there any way to get City of the Dead prior to 2013 and know for sure that the profits or a cut of the profits will go to you? I loved The Rising and have been holding out on City because I didn’t want Dorchester or a random used book site getting paid instead of you. I’ve been delaying, but I have to admit I’m crumbling. I’ve gotta know if the hero gets his son back!

(Amazingly, no one has spoiled it for me yet.)

John – “An Occurence in Crazy Bear Valley” is a novella that was originally published in the collection “Four Rode Out” by Cemetery Dance. It also included novellas by Tim Lebbon, Steve Vernon, and Tim Curran.

JOHN: Later this month (I don’t have an exact date).

ERIC: Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, select bookstores, etc. And you can also go here: http://www.briankeene.com/?page_id=11982 and you’ll find ordering links for each book.

JONATHAN JANZ: Sure. Go back in time to 2004 to 2009, when Dorchester was indeed still sending all of us checks. :) In all seriousness, don’t worry about it. Snag a copy at a used bookstore. I’d rather you read the book and enjoy it than have you wait. (PS: I’m starting your first Samhain title later this week!)

Wish I had that time machine, Brian. The whole sordid affair has been terrible to watch…I can’t imagine how infuriating it must be for you. Okay, I’ll stop scratching the open wound now.

I know you don’t mind my buying it elsewhere, but frankly it would bother me. After much soul-searching (what a loser I am…I mean, it’s not like I’m deciding which woman to marry!), I’ve decided to hold off on CITY and read a different one instead. So I bought the Nook version of A GATHERING OF CROWS a few minutes ago. If I need another fix between now and 2013, I’ll try GHOUL or DEAD SEA.

And thank you for putting my debut novel on your to-read list! Whether you end up enjoying it or not, I sincerely appreciate your taking the time to give my stuff a chance.

I’ll be checking out CROWS in about two weeks–after I finish Farris’s SON OF THE ENDLESS NIGHT (which is awesome, as well as time-consuming). :-)

I’m excited about all the new releases coming out soon. I’ve been re-reading all of the books of yours that I own. I am especially looking forward to the Deadite edition of The Rising, as well as Suburban Gothic and Entombed. But I’m not biased. I’ll read a cereal box or shampoo bottle if your name was on it. Lol. Just curious tho, when will we be able to get our hands on Deluge? Or am I ridiculously late and it was released already?

Would also love to find out what happened to the Cryptids on the “Castaways” island after the book ends. It blew my ass away when I realized that Troy was Sherm from Terminal’s brother, and in Ghoul, when they mention Adam Senft being in high school. I love how all your books relate to another in some way. I was raised on King, Koontz, and Saul. None of their books grab me anymore(except Koontz’s Odd Thomas books) from beginning to end the way that yours do. Thank you for proving that I can still find books that I treasure like children. I’m pissed my mom gave away my copy of The Conqueror Worms.

this is FANTASTIC news! I can’t wait to read Entombed and Earthworm Gods! I’m going to re-read the zombie trilogy in anticipation so when I set down Dead Sea I can start up with book 4! :) Thanks for all your hard work Brian,

Dark Hollow and Ghost Walk are two of my favorites. That’s why I can’t wait to get a copy of A Gathering of Crows.
