Quick run down of your five most currently asked questions (via Twitter, Facebook, and the comments section of this website).
Q: When will Ghoul be available on DVD?
A: January 2013 (until then, you can catch it in re-runs every week on Chiller).
Q: When will Entombed be out in paperback and digital?
A: Ghost Walk, Entombed, and An Occurrence in Crazy Bear Valley are the next books slated for release from Deadite. I would guess that all three should be available within the next month or so. If you want something more specific, ask Deadite here.
Q: What are your long-term plans for the new Jobs In Hell?
A: Same as they are in the short-term – content that drives a daily audience of people who might not normally visit this website or be familiar with my work.
Q: Are you going to be taking the self-publishing plunge anytime soon?
A: Sort of. I’m going to test the waters with Kindle and Nook editions of Alone and Scratch later this year.
Q: Anything new in comics?
A: The Last Zombie has three more 5-issue story arcs before it’s conclusion. After that, it’s time for High Plains Clickers.

All cool and thanks for the info but I am burning to have an update on The Hole. It’s been about 3 years since it began.
Kresby: It’s approx 45% finished. It’s a very long novel — easily the longest prose piece I’ve ever written, which accounts for some of the delay. Add to that life shit from 2 years ago. Also add that this novel ties in to The Lost Level (something I didn’t realize until I was halfway through), and I have to finish TLL before I can finish this one.
I’m not trying to be negative or cause a stir but I thought Alone wasn’t going to be reprinted for awhile. I may have got mixed up though.
David: The collector’s promise for the first Maelstrom set was that The Rising: Deliverance wouldn’t be reprinted for five years. The promise for the second set was that A Conspiracy of One would never be reprinted (that’s also the promise for Sundancing, which is in the third set). But to the absolute best of my knowledge, that was never stated for Alone.
In addition, it’s worth noting that I have no plans to release another physical book edition of Alone, which makes the hardcover the only physical version. I’m only releasing Kindle and Nook editions.
Im a long time fan, and ive asked this before its cool that your reprinting alot of these b iooks but ive got copys of most, my question is when are you reprinting your older stuff, 4×4 the wickeds and others
Travis: Reprinting 4X4 isn’t just my decision. It’s the decision of the other authors involved, as well, and so far, two of them have declined any offers we’ve received.
As for the Wickeds, I don’t plan on ever reprinting them, as those are very early stories and (in my opinion) not very good. I have been re-writing those stories and reprinting them individually, however (in the backs of the Deadite books and elsewhere).
Thanks Brian. Just the update I was looking for. Take care man.
Ok thanks was just wondering
Good to hear that you’re testing the waters with self publishing. I prefer the ebook format, so I’m definitely going to purchase Alone and Scratch on Kindle.
I can’t believe that no one had any burning Meteornotes or Ice Bat questions. I suppose I should answer them anyway:
yes, Yes, No, No, are you insane? , no, flying sharks, no, hopefully some time in 2013, no, Cinderella, no, tasers.

Can’t wait for Entombed. By the way, does anybody know how to find out what Brian’s signing times are at booth 1804 in Baltimore on Sept. 8th?
hate to miss it. Thanks.
Jonathan: As far as I know, Rachel and I will be at that booth all weekend. If that changes, I’ll let you know.
Yeah, I have been waiting for Entombed and An Occurrence in Crazy Bear Valley!!!
Will there also be additional stories in one (or both) of these two?
And also really looking forward to the kindle-editions of Alone and Scratch! Hope this will work out for you as it did for Robert Swartwood
Brian, thanks for answering the booth 1804 question. I’m playing a gig in Baltimore the night before and I was able to change my plane ticket to actually be able to meet one of my favs. Books are still the secret to a long and happy life. BTW, are you familiar with the Civil War Gatehouse at Gettysburgs’ Evergreen Cemetery and the legends associated with it? Just wondering. Thanks again.
Yep! Evergreen is about an hour’s drive from me. Have been there many times.
Thanks for clearing that up Brian. Got a bit mixed up. I bet it’s hard being a very well read author and having to juggle between a collectors market and a mass market. So I guess that’s a big plus to have the whole e-book option. It’s kind of a middle ground. I have Alone and it’s a damn good story. So I hope it finds a wider audience.
And on a somewhat similar note, I would just like to say how excited I am about this upcoming Maelstrom set. I know I’ve said this to you before, but I’d really like to say thanks for picking Geoff Cooper and getting a collection out from him. I know Coop isn’t really in the writing business so much anymore but if you would, tell him I said thanks for agreeing to do this. I’ve really enjoyed what works of his that I have read so this collection is a huge deal to me.
Just taking a shot in the dark here…How do you pick cover art?As an artist and huge fan it would be an honor to do cover art for you or a number of other authors that I am a fan of.
Russell: The authors don’t have much input on that. My advice would be to contact the publishers (such as Deadite Press or Thunderstorm Books) directly, preferably with a link to your online portfolio.
Thank you for answering and writing some of my favorite books
Has there been any studio or company interested on a film/comic/videogame adaptation of The Rising, Dead Sea, Conqueror worms or the like?
I love you work, Brian, and feel it has a huge potential in other media.
