Director Paul Campion (The Devil’s Rock) is presenting his plan for the big screen adaptation of Dark Hollow at the Fantasia International Film Festival today. Cross your fingers and hope for the production to get a green light. Paul will be posting live updates to the Dark Hollow movie Facebook page, so make sure you “Like” it so you don’t miss the news if and when it breaks. I won’t be posting the news here, because…
…I’ll be heading to New York later today for a meeting tomorrow morning regarding potential film adaptations of The Rising and Dead Sea. Now… don’t get all worked up yet. The Rising has been optioned several times, but has never managed to get off the ground. Maybe things will be different this time,
but it’s way too early to celebrate.
Hopefully, I’ll also return from New York with some news on a DVD release date for Ghoul. If you haven’t yet, make sure you snag one of these limited edition collectible screenplay and storyboard books from the Ghoul movie, which ship next week, signed by me.
Finally, the film adaptation of Fast Zombies Suck begins shooting in Central PA in just a few weeks. We will be putting out a call for extras very soon, so if you’ve ever wanted to play a zombie in a Brian Keene movie (or in this case, play a person playing a zombie at a zombie walk in a Brian Keene movie) stay tuned.
For those keeping track, that leaves us with Ghoul and The Ties That Bind both having been filmed, Fast Zombies Suck in production, and Dark Hollow, Castaways, Darkness on the Edge of Town, The Cage, and The Siqqusim Who Stole Christmas in development.

Good luck with all this, I would love to see all your books made in to movies.
Dear Mr. Keene,
We have commented through Facebook and Ghoul was a book I did purchase. You were able to help me with finding your works, since dorchester. I am broken hearted to know you are now signing copies, sure would love to have a signature work of yours. I already have Ghoul as aformentioned; however, if you will be signing again a different book, I ask that you keep me posted, if you can.
P.S. my favorite story is Urban Gothic. Would love to have a signature copy of it. I have a paperback. Do u have a hardback copy you could sign for me?
Would absolutely flip to see Urban Gothic as a movie. Would be a HUGE hit.
Dawnelle: Thanks for the kind words. Sadly, I don’t have any hardcovers of Urban Gothic. I do see them pop up on eBay, however. Here’s a list of where I’m signing books at for the rest of this year: http://www.briankeene.com/?page_id=10684
Brian,
I hope DARK HOLLOW gets made into a movie. I have never asked you (and you-of course-do not have to respond) but how do feel about your fantastic novel, TERMINAL? I love it and as a movie—well, in the right hands we are talking OSCAR!!! Just my opinion. Hope all is well. Just got KILL WHITEY in the mail.
Take care,
WAYNE THE TRAIN (ashland, ky).
WAYNE: Paul Campion would like to make Terminal after he’s filmed Dark Hollow and The Siqqusim Who Stole Christmas.
