Great story, Brian. Oddly enough, my own story, “Expertise,” contains a very similar line of dialogue and plot twist. It’s mentioned in the current issue (May/June) of Writer’s Digest as it earned “Honorable Mention” in their Thriller/Suspense competition. Just an FYI in case I ever get it published elsewhere and you stumble upon it. I think I’d kill myself if you thought I was another Boyer. But again, awesome story and additional kudos to the cameraman–much more interesting camera work and setting than a typical recorded reading.

Great short story Brian! I’ve never gotten the chance to come to any of your events so this is the first time I’ve heard you read any of your work. I have to say that you’ve got a real talent for narration, in addition to your proven skill as a writer.
