Author and filmmaker Greg Lamberson Tweeted this morning that author Michael Louis Calvillo passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer. One of the most promising of the newest wave of horror writers, Calvillo’s books included I Will Rise, Lambs, 7 Brains, As Fate Would Have It, Bleed For You, and many more. He is survived by his wife of 13-years, Michelle, and their daughter. A genuinely sweet and warm guy who was a joy to talk to at conventions, and who was always welcoming to his readership, he will be missed.

Ah, man, that sucks…
Damn. That really sucks. Watching a family member die of cancer is a fate I wouldn’t even wish on people I deeply hate.
And… he was a very good writer, too. I know I came to this post kind of late, but well, will keep his spirit and imagination in mind…
Thank you for the lovely review, Brian. I’m absolutely certain Michael would be so pleased to know you enjoyed LAMBS.
Sorry, Brian. I meant to post this on a review written on LAMBS… In any case, I know Michael respected you and your work very much. Thank you for your kind words.
My condolences to you and your family, Michelle. He was a very good man, and he touched a lot of his peers and readers.
