If I was dead on the floor of my house for a week, given the choice between Poppy eating my face, and it just lying there slowly rotting, I’d choose the cat.

Fun Fact: In Tibet funeral rites that last thing that monks do is wrap the corpse up and place it out in the woods for animals to eat as a final act of self-sacrifice and compassion.

    Well, now you know.

This doesn’t affect the Holiday Giveaway, does it ? Everybody was wondering. I’m just the douchebag that asked.

Followed it on Twitter, came here to re-read — empathized both times. I don’t know if it will help you, but I feel better knowing people who cling and manipulate need something we don’t.

Some of the best lines I ever came across regarding the bitter symbiosis of friendship are in Joni Mitchell’s song Jericho -

    “Anyone will tell you,
just how hard it is to make and keep a friend.
    Maybe they’ll short sell you,
or maybe it’s you – Judas, in the end,
when you just can no longer pretend, that you’re getting what you need,
or you’re giving out anything for them to grow and feed on.”

Hard words to swallow, but they apply to us all, I think. And now I’ve cheered everyone up, I shall go and contemplate being gnawed upon by all the critters in the house.

I can’t picture my kitty eating my face after a week w/out food. On second thought, yes I can.
She has those tiny but SHARP vampire teeth that she uses to catch prey in the wild.
In our house she caught a mouse, ate half of it and brought the other half to us so we could be impressed with what a mighty huntress she is.
If I hadn’t seen people with eviscerations, I probably would have gotten sick.
My friend couldn’t handle looking at stuff like that, but I don’t have a problem with it. Which is a damn good thing, b/c I see gore on a regular basis working in Emergency Medicine.
