Very cool! Congrats!
Gak! I didn’t get my copy! I thought I had time!!
Thanks for writing it. After the Dorchester shennanigans, I didn’t think we would see this one for a long time. Kudos for going with Camelot; probably some of the best customer service I’ve gotten online. Unless I don’t get my copy, of course
Glad I have my copy coming to me.
Agreeing with Jeff’s comments on Camelot! Great service and now just stoked to get my copy!
Congrats. Very excited to read it.
I agree with all the above! I must offer kudos on customer service so far, very personable thus far! Looking forward to a good read!
kept getting error on order page. don’t like giving card over phone. how many YEARS until other fans get a chance to read this one via reissue or ebook? i own most of your limited editions which are great when i can get em’. (p.s congrats on sell out even if i’m bummed)
Where can i get a copy of entombed? i hope barnes and noble has one. i really NEED a copy. i so enjoy reading ur books.
You’ll have to wait until used copies hit eBay.
Hope mine ships soon, definitely looking forward to it and glad I got a copy before they sold out
So that’s it? gone means gone? No 2nd printing order? Very sorry to hear this.
Think there is a chance that more copies will be heading our way?
I just got my copy today and I finished it the same day!! It was beyond awesome!! Keep up the good work!!
Big Uk fan. Completely missed the release of this book. Any chance of another run? Cheers
Absolutely pissed that couldn’t find a copy of Entombed. Waited for 4 friggn months to get a copy. Looked for one and B&N, Borders, even online and could not get a copy. Now stuck holding my d**k with nothing to show for it. Thanks alot.
No offense, but why are you pissed at me about it? How many times did I have to type “THIS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IN BOOK STORES”? And there are copies on eBay right now. So it’s not like you don’t have options.
Hi Brian no offense either but I get why some people are irked. I myself have bought almost all your books and am dying to read this of course and there is this limited number sold, now can’t find it stuff going on. Listen, you’d feel the same don’t say you wouldnt and honestly I’m not saying that in a malicious way. Anyway I just looked on eBay and there is nothing. Like everyone else I’m sure I called borders and barnes and noble just with some small dumb hope…now with three kids keeping me busy I feel like, whatever I’ll have to find something else…
Okay, this is the last time I’m going to address this. I’ve written and published 28 books. Every single one of those books has first been released as a limited edition hardcover. A year later, a paperback has usually followed. Indeed, a paperback edition of ENTOMBED will be released next year.
Limited editions being followed by cheaper editions are a common and standard industry practice. It’s not like this is something new. It has been going on since the 1800′s. Forty years from now, when I’m dead and gone, authors will still be doing it.
ENTOMBED will be available in paperback and digital next April for anyone who wants to read it. That’s the release date. I can’t speed up time. Nor can I change a standard and common industry practice. If you want to read ENTOMBED, and you couldn’t afford the limited edition, and you don’t want to bid for one on eBay, then you can wait until next April and buy a cheaper edition.
And no, I wouldn’t feel the same way. There are countless books by King, Laymon, Lansdale, Lee and others that I’ve wanted to read that were first released as limited editions. I couldn’t afford them at the time, so I waited patiently for the cheaper edition to come out. Was it tough waiting? Sure. But I understood that the writer had to make a living, and I was respectful of that. What I didn’t do was go berate the author for things he had no control over, especially after the author had already explained it over and over and over again.
You say you’ll need to go find something else? Okay. My new novel THE DAMNED HIGHWAY comes out at the end of this month as a $10 paperback. Deadite Press has been re-releasing a book by me every single month this year. Own all those already? THE LAST ZOMBIE is an ongoing comic book series. It’s not like I don’t have other new stuff out there. Read that, or try a new author you might enjoy. And next April, buy a paperback edition of ENTOMBED. It really is that simple.
Don’t think I berated necessarily – was not aware a paperback would be coming out. Guess I missed that in all the websites because it seemed it was being stated that this is all there would be. I don’t know how the industry works in relation to perhaps going with a smaller distributer (which is kind of what I assumed this case was). Hey listen we love your books, be flattered, type in big type”I LOVE THAT YOU LOVE MY BOOKS- paperbacks coming in April- meantime check Ebay”! AND your books are better than theirs by far so we clamor for them- ya wouldn’t want us to type who cares?
And I will be getting the damned highway, by golly gosh darn it!
Leigh: No worries. Yeah, if you go back through the archives, there are plenty of listings for the book. Depending on when they were written, they may or may not include the paperback info. But, that’s why we keep the line of communication open, so you guys can ask me directly.
And for what it’s worth, I understood what you were saying. The response is directed at everyone (mostly in an effort to stop the flood of Entombed-related emails that Big Joe has to wade through several times a week).
