You have made my year, Brian!!!!!! Thank you so much for the above
Can’t wait to see it!!!!!
just received Springsteen’s ‘The Promise’ box set companion book, amazing original photos and stories frm the Darkness tour. Limited Edition http://www.thelightinDarkness.com
I’m buying Lake Fossil the moment it comes out!
you’re a dick KEENE, why the hell do a novel that’s clearly pissing on my science fiction series. I am working to get the name trademarked because I don’t want people associating Lake Fossil with your goddamned abomination. You’re nothing but an uneducated dick who just got lucky. I am planning to write Lake Fossil IV sometime in the spring. I don’t want people associating Lake Fossil with your piece of shit bizarro novel.
Everyone will know that Lake Fossil is a science fiction series written by me you motherfucking faggot.
Thanks for dropping by, Darling Nikki. I went ahead and fixed the website link in your signature for you. Hope you don’t mind. Hugs and kisses in 2011!
Nicky, for the love of all things Lovecraft, get it through your head that THE WHOLE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU. GET OVER YOURSELF. Don’t be hating because you think more people will like B’s Lake Fossil story than yours.
Bummed that THE WANDERER did not make the list for 2011. Brian, any plans to return to this project at a future date?
Tod: Soon as Gak and I find a new publisher for it, we’ll finish it.
I wonder if Nicky screams at the companies and actual lake named Lake Fossil for stealing his stuff too? Google it Nicky you’re not the only lake fossil in the world even if you like to think so in your fantasy world.
That being said I’ll be buying Mr. Keene’s version of Lake Fossil and Entombed and Witching Tree sound interesting too!
Really really bummed about Entombed. I hope sometime it at least can be made into a digital copy.
I’m trying to convince my wife that since I never buy hardbacks anyway and I only get to buy a few books a year that I should totally be allowed to get it. Or maybe I am convincing myself. Ha.
I am really excited about the re-release of Earthworm Gods material and Unhappy Endings. I missed it before it was out of print last time.
Also good to see you are still bringing the crazies out. Didn’t I tell you once not to poke the crazies with a stick?
Oh fuck you KEENE — I don’t own lakefossilpress.net, I own lakefossilpress.org.
I challenge you to a fist fight Keene, no police protectiion or anything like that — just man to man. You underestimate me Brian, and yes I will put you on your ass for the bogus links. Why the fuck must you put the faggot fake link instead of the truthful one? I think what it comes down to that you and MAry are both pieces of shit. You’re uneducated white trash who got lucky.
I hope the novels/novellas that are lined up in the new year will be available for pre-order soon, so I can be guaranteed a copy of your works as soon as possible. I’ll keep checking the Web site here, of course, and also online outlets like Borders, Barnes & Noble, Amazon, etc.
“I challenge you to a fist fight Keene, no police protectiion or anything like that — just man to man.”
Will this be like the last time I signed just a few miles from your house, and you hid in Granny’s basement all day long? And please feel free to keep posting. I’ll keep changing your links so folks go to the *real* Lake Fossil Press website.
I want to hear about poor Optimus Prime.
“You underestimate me Brian”
Actually, no he doesn’t.
“I will put you on your ass”
Actually, no, you won’t.
I think when it comes down to it, you’re just a sick, angry, revolting, psychotic, smelly, bitter, insecure being whose mental limitations prevent you from ever making it past a high school level emotionally, and possibly grade school, intellectually.
Which is sad for you.
“You’re uneducated white trash who got lucky.”
Actualy, no, we’re not. Between me and Brian, we’re far more educated than you, far more talented, and with infinite amounts more class.
PS — I’m proud of you, Brian. 2011 is going to be a good year.
xoxoxoxo
Definitely looking forward to “The Witching Tree”, “Hollow”, and “Damned Highway”. Other stuff looks cool, also!
Working on a trademark, Nick? Even if you could afford the $400 for one, it doesn’t stop a book title from being fine and dandy. Look at all the books out against Wal-Mart, with the company name in the title. And furthermore, BK’s book isn’t even ABOUT you or your press.
I mean, I looked at the Lake Fossil site and while I did buy several copies of the magazine with the unicorn on it, I didn’t see anything bizarro about it.
I like to dress like a girl and then have sex with homeless men and pay them money to let me call them “Daddy.”
There you go, Nikki. I didn’t edit your URL. Instead, I edited your actual comment. I hope this suits you better.
I think your edit of Nikki’s post is accurate. After all, on 12/26, Nikki wrote on his own blog:
“I am known to be playful around sailors.”
Don’t believe me?
http://npacione.blog.com/2010/12/26/true-authorship/
(It’s about halfway down his wall-o-text diatribe.)
Which comment did you edit? They all sound like him to me.
Can’t wait for Hollow! Yay!
PS Nicky: Posting physical threats (regardless of how LAUGHABLE they may be) on a very public website isn’t going to help you get rid of that guardianship, or help your family in that lawsuit. Like I said elsewhere, by all means keep posting. You’re only shooting yourself in the foot.
Nicky’s latest screed has been edited by Brian, who has replaced his usual drivel with a link to a wonderful Blog called The Rusty Nail: http://therustynail.blog.com/
Dude, there is an extremely large amount of win contained in the post. I’d keep open flames away lest it should ignite and blow us all into oblivion.
Folks who wish to report Nick’s actinides to those responsible for his mental care can contact:

Gah… That’s supposed to be “activities”… Stupid autocorrect…
Oh my God, people, please go to the quote secion of The Rusty Nail and proceed to shit yourself with laughter.
Loved Dead Sea, and I do hope the sequel becomes more than just a collectors volume.
Excellent … I look forward to all!
Though I should ask, Brian, if you’d mind awfully were I to use “Fossil Lake” as a story setting.
I’d hate to tread on your title
– C.
Two things in this post killed me.
One, Cthulhu’s World…I can’t get that god damn voice out my head that you did, Keene. Classic.
Two, wasn’t expecting Nikki to show up here. Made the read all worthwhile. I really want one of those rubber duckies, Nikki. Can I order one?
I’m looking forward to reading your take on Lake Fossil, Brian. What would be almost as cool would be a submission call for an anthology of tales all sharing the same title, but with lots of folks’ variations on the theme. I’ve got one in inventory that wouldn’t take much work to be suitable for such a project.
SirOtter: I’m thinking of editing an anthology called Writings From the Grave instead. But it would probably have the same effect…
hola Brian! while i am rejoicing at being able to buy some paperback action with the selected scenes series i was wondering will Entombed ever come out in paperback as well? big fan here just wondering. =)
No plans for a paperback of Entombed at this point, but that’s not to say never.
“No plans for a paperback of Entombed at this point, but that’s not to say never.”
Please excuse me while I go pout in a darker-than-dark corner that is darker- than-dark!
In truth, I can’t find a mass-market home for it. It’s a zombie novel without zombies in it, and that’s a hard sell.
Well, that makes sense. Correct me if I’m wrong to assume … but sort of the same line of thinking that lead the worm-sequel to be a blog serial, and not a MMPB?
Anyhow, no matter the format, best of luck with it and your other projects.
Maybe a digital addition of entombed then?
Sorry I feel like a harpy or something *blah whine whine* haha. :p
Ristow: Pretty much, yep.
Marie: Oh, certainly at some point. But there are no plans for one at this time (meaning no contract for one).
On the bright side, I’ve announced it early enough that everyone has time to save up $50 for the hardcover.
Please write faster! I ‘discovered’ The Rising earlier this year and have burned through (almost) everything you’ve written since. I just bought a copy of Unhappy Endings and I’m trying to pace myself, but the pace of your writing won’t let me! I’m reading the damn thing at the dinner table, despite the looks from my wife.
BTW, Magic Beans is brilliant; any chance, however remote, of a follow-up into that world?
You know, I’ve been playing with the idea of detailing the fall of Forward Operations Base Lake Fossil during the first month.
Hey, Keene, do you mind if I use the title too?
Just a bloody font, smeared across the cover…
LAKE FOSSIL
The Last Stand of 5/71st Infantry
It’ll have everything! Sex, violence, gay lovers, a foul oderous hunchback!
Maybe it will even be a play!
Shawn: No plans for a Beans follow-up right now.
‘No plans for a Beans follow-up’
Oh well, I’ll keep my fingers crossed anyway. I just loved the concept. You’ve written about intelligent zombies, mindless zombies, animal zombies, gods and demons. But this story kind of said ‘Forget about them, you think they’re bad?!? Get a load of what we HUMANS can do!’
I don’t want to compare this story to 28 days later, but if I did, I’d say it makes 28 days look like Seasame Street.
Hey Brian, what about Vanishing Point? Where are you on that? Can’t wait for the Keene haul next year!
Brent: It’s still being written. Doubtful it will be published in 2011. Probably early 2012.
2011 is looking promising for us fans.
What about another book like Urban Gothic? I just love that book. And Castaways, too. Those books are fast, fun, horror reads. I hope you write more books like those.
Tricia: Entombed is exactly like that.
“Tricia: Entombed is exactly like that.”
Oh, lovely! I can’t wait. I hope I can get it here in Michigan. I had to give our Barnes and Nobles a little shove to get your books in, but they now stock them pretty well. I didn’t have any issues getting The Gathering of The Crows right away, so hopefully this book will be the same.
Hey Brian. It is getting impossible to find ANY of your books(pocket or otherwise)in any bookstore in Quebec.I had to order the 3 novels I have not read of yours via the internet.
Is this a conspiracy by the Quebec and Canadian governments to keep one of the best horror fiction writers novels out of the hands of the general public,or is all your excellent material only going to be available online?
Also,do you know if any of your novels have been translated into french?
CHEERS!!!!!
