BREAKING NEWS
Jeff Heimbuch, director of The Ties That Bind, writes:
‘Friday night in NJ, I was pulled over by a cop who wanted to tell me my passenger side brake light was out. Very nice of him, just ran my plates, yadda yadda, and let me go.
Saturday morning, I’m driving to the signing, and I remembered I forgot to change the light. And I may have been going a liiiiittle bit over the speed limit. So a cop on the Pennslyvania turnpike pulled me over. He took my info, ran my plates, and said “Do you know why I pulled you over?” and not wanting to admitting to speeding, I said “My brake light is out. I just found out this morning, I’m going to fix it as soon as I get to where I’m going.”
He gives me a look, like he’s about to give me a ticket, and then notices my shirt (which, I was wearing my Bamfer Productions shirt). He points to it and goes “What’s that?”
I say “I make movies, this is the name of my movie company.”
He goes “Oh yea? Make anything recently I may know about?”
I say “I just made a movie called The Ties That Bind.”
He gets a funny look on his face, and he thinks a minute before saying “That Brian Keene movie?”
Needless to say, I was pretty shocked that he know that, so all I could muster up was “Yes!”
He goes “I heard about that…I’ve been meaning to buy that. I like his books.”
My quick thinking jumps in, and I say “Well, hell, I got a bunch of ‘em right here! You want a DVD and a poster?!”
And sure enough, he took a DVD, some posters, handed my back my stuff and said “Enjoy the rest of your day!”
So…thank you, to Brian Keene and The Ties That Bind for getting me out of an almost surefire ticket on the PA Turnpike.’

That’s freakin’ awesome!
lol! Ya lucky bastard! At least the officer has good taste in Authors and Film.
hahahaha funny shit did he know it was you? did he even look at your id? or did he just talk about the movie and take the poster and dvd?
Haha, thanks for posting this here, Brian!
Glad you guys got a kick out of it!
DJ – He definitely looked at my id, and ran my info, but once he knew about the movie, any wrong doing that I possibly may have done had gone out the window, haha
