I know you’ve been waiting a very long time for this one. I have some bad news and some good news to report.
The Bad News: Regretfully, due to the expiration of the obligated contractual time frames, Jack’s Magic Beans will no longer be published by Creeping Hemlock Press. This was ultimately my decision, and should not reflect poorly on the publisher.
The Good News: It will, however, be published in Unhappy Endings, which is my next short story collection, due out early next year from Delirium Books.
To the best of my knowledge, NO ONE was charged for this book. If you pre-ordered this from a bookseller, you’ll want to contact them and verify that. If you’re a bookseller, you’ll want to contact your customers and reassure them.
My apologies to all of you for this unfortunate outcome. As I said, you will get to read it, however. As always, I appreciate your patronage and understanding.

“due to the expiration of the obligated contractual” What? Too many big words Brian…
Basically, it means that the option time in the contract ran out, and I’ve now chosen to publish it elsewhere.
That’s a bummer! But I bet it will make UNHAPPY ENDINGS that much better.
Well damn! Does that mean we can get a F.U.K.U. Edition of Unhappy Endings? <:]
Sigh. Oh well, I’ve been spending too much on books lately anyway. I’ll just have to save up for Unhappy endings instead.
I had a bad feeling about this one. I guess Jersey dude won’t get his freebi
This makes me even MORE excited for Uphappy Endings. I love your short story work, and the fact that these two volumes will be affordably priced makes me a happy happy boy.
Dang it! I preordered the FUKU edition! So all of that special bonus “people who…” stuff will now be lost. Why haven’t they emailed us about this? Has “Happy Endings” been put up for pre-order yet?
Too Bad
But I understand and look forward to Unhappy Endings
I’m really not surprised. I think you made a wise choice.
As much as this sucks for the people who ordered it, im kinda happy it happened, since i didnt manage to snag a copy in time!!
It’s rather unfortunate. I really looked forward to seeing the FUKU version, but assumed it was too good to be true. I’ll be looking out for Unhappy Endings, but it won’t be the same. I certainly understand though.
I am so bummed I have been waiting and checking for months.
Well k sara I guess. There Unto Dust series was looking pretty promising too. I’m still looking forward to Lebbon’s Novella. I’ll have to pre-order UnHappy Endings now
