I would like to note that I received the most awesome stares on the Metro for reading this book- silly me, reading a book that boldly states “KILL WHITEY” on the front and spine in public!
A dramatization, if you will:
Random Passenger: “What book is that?”
Me: “Kill Whitey.”
Random Passenger: “…”
Me: “…the villain dude’s hair is WHITE and they call him WHITEY and someone has to KILL him.”
Random Passenger: “Oh… okay. I thought-”
Me: “Yeah. No. Uh, hell no.”
At least I wasn’t called a terrorist this time! Awesome book, btw.

I’ve been taking the book to work with me as of late, and I have seen quite a few strange stares when people spot the title, but so far no one has yet asked me anything about the book.
And I thought the reactions I got reading THE RISING in the beauty shop surrounded by sweet little blue-haired old ladies in for their weekly tune-ups were weird …
